New City Church,

Life in the church has changed dramatically in the last week. Thankfully these times never take God by surprise. Here is what you need to know about how New City will operate for the foreseeable future:

If you have any needs (groceries, childcare, even counseling), please let us know via weekly gold cards, directly emailing the church ( or call/text us (515.207.0064). People are still the foundation of the church, even in these quarantined times. The small group leaders have been reaching out to individuals in the church and the deacons are finding ways we can be helpful in our community. Nothing official yet, but lots of good ideas and a head start on a few of them.

Starting this Sunday, we will have Sunday services online. Services will get posted on our Facebook page at 10AM, just like regular church. We will still be sending out the digital bulletin and asking for gold cards, just like regular Sundays. AND you can continue to give your tithes and offerings online, just like regular church. (If you would rather not give digitally, checks can be mailed to the office, we are still gathering the mail at 114 SW State Street).

During the week, we will be releasing videos for kids, devotions for adults, updates, and testimonies. The two platforms you will most easily find us on are:

If you have limited internet access or difficulty connecting on either of these platforms, let us know.

Small Groups have NOT been canceled – but they have been modified. This Wednesday we will be having small groups via video conferencing. At 6:30 (just like regular Wednesday evenings), we will be asking you to log in and meet with your small group virtually. There will be a few questions from that week’s life story testimony and you’ll be able to talk and pray with the people in your group. More technical specifics to come, but plan on joining us this Wednesday for Small Groups, right from your home.

That is all for now. You are in my prayers, and I’m looking forward to seeing how God will move during these times.

Pastor Adam
